Product design and identity for Rukh, the classic chess game, but with a bold new look. The project started out as a labor of love. This unique design was initially created as a gift for Liviu’s son chess club, and evolved into being the first 3D printed product in our Etsy shop, LAatPlay.
Approach:
The identity distills Rukh's true essence. Bold, but playful at the same time. A square into a world of circles. Modern and minimalistic, but preserving the elegance, simplicity and visual clarity of the classic game.
Identity:
Rukh, with its beautiful simplicity, is the product of two passions combined: design and 3D printing. What started as play, a tap on the complex world of product design, quickly transformed into an empowering experiment and a beloved product thanks to 3D printing.
This is a true art piece! No detail is too small: from the perfectly crafted chess pieces, to the drawstring bag with a playful tag, to the shipping box and the shipping tape (yes! You read it right, the shipping tape!) - everything is well-thought-out & goes together perfectly.
